I obviously watched our esteemed EAM Sushma Swaraj’s speech at UN. I had no doubt that Sushma Swaraj, our illustrious and matchless Foreign Minister, will deliver a brilliant address at the United Nations General Assembly today, completely exposing Pakistan’s devilish nature. She represented audacious voice of India. This was one of her historic speeches that will be remembered for years to come. She addressed global issues and gave multiple messages to the world.
In the initial part of her speech, she stayed clear of the Pakistan issue talking about challenges such as poverty; gains India has seen in the form of foreign fund inflows due to Make in India scheme and need for a peaceful world and international energy security.
External Affairs Minister set the tone of India’s stance on the Kashmir issue firmly at the UNGA speech by stating Kashmir is an indivisible part of India. She blamed Pakistan for sponsoring terror against the peace initiatives of India. Who finances terror and terrorists? Same question was raised by Afghanistan on this very platform few days back. She managed to set the tone of India’s stance against Pakistan and a fitting response to Nawaz Sharif’s speech.
Isolating Pakistan as if it was some mischievous child in our classroom who had to be cornered and punished by a Teacher? No. Although I do agree, Pakistan be declared a terrorist state by the international community; I also think scrapping the Indus Water Treaty is impossible at this point. We should definitely use a combination of several measures, diplomatic, economic and military, etc. to save our priceless lives at borders.
